What innovations are needed to develop a climate-neutral energy system of the future? How can the national and European climate targets be achieved in 2030? What can Germany do to advance the European Green Deal together with the other member states? These and other questions will be the focus of the virtual Copernicus Symposium on 9 and 10 June 2021.
ENSURE, P2X, SynErgie and Ariadne, as Copernicus projects of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), are among the largest German research initiatives around the energy transition. Together with representatives from politics, business and society, they will discuss the results of practical and theoretical research for a climate-neutral Federal Republic in 2050.
Speakers at the virtual event include State Secretary Prof. Dr. Wolf-Dieter Lukas from the BMBF, Head of Department Thorsten Herdan from the BMWi, Chief Executive Kerstin Andreae from the BDEW, Deputy Chief Executive Holger Lösch from the BDI, Ecologic Institute's Head Climate Matthias Duwe, and Ottmar Edenhofer from the PIK & MCC and spokesperson for the Ariadne project.
