The Resources Team at the Ecologic Institute is engaged in several projects dealing with resource policy, decoupling of resource consumption and economic growth, resource use and circular economy and the associated transformation processes. In our work we focus on questions like: what goals need to be set - and for whom? What role does strategic, long-term planning play in achieving these set goals, and how should effective monitoring be designed? Who should be involved in the processes, in what capacity and for what purposes? And what is the legal framework in which these aspects are organized and coordinated?
If this piques your interest, the Resources Team of the Ecologic Institute is looking forward to your application as expert in resource conservation (with a focus on mineral resources) and circular economy.
Your tasks:
- Managing projects focusing on quantitative analysis, such as material flow analyses and life cycle assessments,
- evaluation of national and international policies and strategies for resource conservation and the circular economy,
- conducting scientific analyses and preparing case studies, for example based on literature and data research, interviews with experts, and exchanges with stakeholders,
- development of environmental policy solutions and recommendations,
- support in the analysis and evaluation of regional transformation processes,
- editing scientific publications and project reports,
- acquisition of third-party funding at regional, national, and international level,
- design and implementation of project-related events.
Your profile:
- Completed master's degree in environmental or resource economics, resource management, environmental sciences, geology, geoeconomics, or a comparable field of study, a PhD is a plus,
- at least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of resource conservation and circular economy, with a focus on mineral resources,
- good knowledge of national and European policies and strategies in the field of resource conservation and circular economy,
- environmental understanding of material flows and life cycle analyses, due diligence in supply chains and/or future technologies and their relevance to resource policy,
- strong analytical skills,
- very good skills in the written presentation of scientific results,
- interest and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new environmental policy issues,
- team orientation, with the ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary manner,
- very good written and spoken German and English skills,
- experience in acquiring third-party funding.
Our offer:
- You will work in a leading international Think Tank that develops solutions to the most pressing environmental challenges of our time. You will work on a scientific basis and politically independently — in constant exchange with experts and decision-makers from politics, research, business, and civil society.
- As part of an international team, you will enjoy a pleasant working atmosphere in a flexible and family friendly environment with flat hierarchies.
- You will work on projects independently and on your own responsibility, strengthening your profile in the field of resource conservation and circular economy. In doing so, you can build on the institute's excellent references and networks.
