The European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts with support of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), is organising an online workshop on the use of climate data and services in the Mediterranean region.

This event aims to showcase the wide range of climate data, indicators and tools available through the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S), one of the initiatives implemented by ECMWF, highlighting practical applications relevant to Mediterranean countries and sectors. The event will also contribute to identifying user needs and priorities, helping to strengthen the understanding of climate information requirements across the region.

The workshop targets stakeholders across the 43 Member States of the UfM, including:

  • Policy-makers responsible for climate, energy, water, and environment
  • National meteorological services
  • Researchers and scientists working with climate and environmental data
  • Technical agencies and practitioners supporting climate-informed decision-making
  • Regional organisations and development actors

This transboundary user workshop is a unique opportunity for interested individuals and organisations to:

  • Learn about the C3S and the climate information resources it provides
  • Discover practical applications of C3S products and tools relevant to Mediterranean countries and climate challenges
  • Explore how climate information can support decision-making in areas such as climate adaptation, energy planning and water management

The workshop takes place as a side event of the 3rd Mediterranean Green Week.
