Our events are central to our mission. Through them, we foster dialogue between science, politics, practice and the public, creating spaces where knowledge and perspectives meet. We act as a convener, bringing different stakeholders together to co-develop solutions for resilient societies and thriving ecosystems. This page features our own events, including recordings, summaries, and supplementary materials.

After more than three years of intensive research and collaboration, the final event of the project AMAREX – Adaptation of Stormwater Management to Extreme Weather Events took place on 10 July 2025 in Cologne. Online workshop on Urban Heat Island adaptation in Rome, 14 April 2025, featuring the Colosseum and green urban landscape; funded by the EU.
On 14 April 2025, 80 municipal representatives, researchers and urban planning experts came together to explore practical approaches to mitigating the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect. The workshop featured case studies from Athens, Milan, and Vienna, highlighting local adaptation strategies, analytical tools, and implementation mechanisms that support urban resilience.

On 14 and 20 March 2024, stakeholder workshops were held in Berlin and Cologne as part of the AMAREX project. In the second series of workshops within AMAREX, the first prototype of an online tool for assessing the potential of rainwater management measures was discussed with stakeholders in Cologne and Berlin. The aim of the workshops was to test the user-friendliness of the tool and to compare the requirements of potential user groups directly on the prototype in order to further develop the tool in line with requirements.
