In July 2015, the new POLIMP Webinar Series officially kicked off with a discussion on the topic “Paris 2015: Lessons from the Copenhagen Experience" moderated by Matthias Duwe (Head, Climate Ecologic Institute).
The webinar took place on Tuesday, 7 July 2015 from 14:00 until 15:00 CEST and featured two main speakers.
- Prof. Dr. Sebastian Obertür – Professor, Institute for European Studies (IES), Vrije Universiteit Brussel
- Wytze van der Gaast, PhD – Joint Implementation Network (JIN)
- Matthias Duwe – Ecologic Institute's Head of Climate
The three explored what lessons can be drawn from the experience of the negotiation process towards the 2009 Copenhagen climate summit for a success of this year's conference COP21 in Paris, which is aiming to adopt a new agreement for the time after 2020.
