Corinna Fürst is a Fellow at Ecologic Institute in Berlin, where she works on EU and German climate and industrial policy. She focuses on economic instruments for achieving climate neutrality, such as the Emissions Trading System (ETS) and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and their further development. Her research also covers policy instruments that can support the decarbonisation of industry. A native German speaker, she is fluent in English and has good knowledge of Spanish.

At Ecologic Institute, she contributes to the European Climate Neutrality Observatory (ECNO) in the area of industry and clean technologies. She is also involved in the Ariadne research project and contributes to capacity building and knowledge sharing on emissions trading with European and international stakeholders. 

Before joining Ecologic Institute, Corinna Fürst worked as a Senior Associate in the Industry & Innovation programme at the European Climate Foundation (ECF) where she led ECF's steel decarbonization portfolio with a focus on demand side instruments. She also implemented ECF's heavy industry decarbonization work in Germany and monitored the development of Carbon Capture and Storage technologies. Corinna Fürst completed her Blue Book traineeship at the Secretariat General of the European Commission where she worked on evaluations and impact assessments and supported the Fit for Future Platform. Prior to that, she gained experience in international relations and environmental policy with positions at the Ifo Center for Energy, Climate, and Resources, the German Federal Foreign Office and at a sustainability consultancy. 

Corinna Fürst holds a MSc in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy from WU Vienna (Austria) and a BA in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Bayreuth (Germany) and KU Leuven (Belgium).
