This year’s edition of the Ariadne@Brussels workshop series took place from 8 to 10 December 2025. Researchers from the Ariadne project presented their latest findings on EU climate and energy policy and discussed them in an informal, focused setting with policy makers and stakeholders.
Under the title "EU climate and energy policy in a polarising world: discussion of findings from the Ariadne project," various thematic sessions took place over three days at Martin’s Hotel Brussels EU Quarter and online.
The main thematic highlights per day were:
- Monday, 8 December: focus on carbon markets and their role in the transition to climate neutrality, including discussions on the post-2030 policy architecture – and sessions bringing together market analysts and carbon market modelers from academia;
- Tuesday, 9 December: discussions on competitiveness and decarbonization, the future of EU industry, energy infrastructure development as well as social impacts of the green transition.
- Wednesday, 10 December: concludes the programme with a dialogue on options for carbon dioxide removal integration into the EU ETS.
Key take-aways and slides of each session can be found on the Ariadne webpage.
