On 21 June 2023, the final conference of the "Dialogforum private Haushalte" took place. During the conference, the team of the project "Reduction of Food Waste in Private Households in Germany" presented the results of their various data collections-efforts, including those of the Citizen Science Project "Deutschland rettet Lebensmittel" (Germany saves food), as well as representative surveys. These provide important insights into the effectiveness of measures to reduce food waste in private households. The tools and methods developed for optimizing actions were discussed. Furthermore, there were networking opportunities among the participants and the many actors who have accompanied the project. Finally, the team presented an outlook with recommendations for further work.

The event was moderated by Dr. Tanja Busse, and an improvisational theater performance from Berlin provided food for thought and impulses. State secretary Silvia Bender of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture gave a welcoming address at the event.

The presentation slides and the two introduced documents can be downloaded here.

Further details can be found in the program.
