On 8 June 2023, the "Stakeholder Consultation on the CoR Opinion on Towards a Multilevel Green Deal Governance: The Revision of the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action Regulation" was held. The event was organized by the Committee of the Regions (CoR) to gather the opinion of various stakeholders on the multilevel governance of the Green Deal and the revision of the Energy Union and Climate Action Regulation. Matthias Duwe contributed his insights and suggestions regarding the Green Deal and the governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action.

After more than two and a half years since the launch of the Green Deal, accompanied by the COVID crisis and energy and geopolitical crises, it was urgent to reflect on how the implementation of the Green Deal works. The goal was to ensure synergy between policies and ensure long-term success. The event focused on discussing some key elements and dysfunctions in the implementation of the Green Deal at the local and regional levels.

The results of the event will be presented in a working document to be presented during the ENVE Commission meeting on 29 June 2023. Final discussion and approval of the draft opinion are scheduled for the 28-29 September ENVE Commission meeting in Malaga.
