On behalf of the Competence Centre on Climate Impacts and Adaptation of the German Federal Environment Agency, Ecologic Institute is conducting an online survey on the further development of the German Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change. The survey will help prepare for the 2014 update of the Adaptation Action Plan, which will be presented in a progress report on the German adaptation strategy. It is targeted at representatives of regional and local politics and administration, enterprises and business associations, research and consultancy institutions, as well as non-governmental organizations in Germany.
As a means of building upon Ecologic Institute's expertise in geoengineering governance and regulation, Gesa Homann and Elizabeth Tedsen participated in the University of Oxford's Geoengineering Summer School from August 19 to August 25, 2012.
The Environmental Policy Research Centre at Freie Universität Berlin welcomes applications for the 2010 Marie Curie Training Course. This years training course will be on the topic "Architectures for Earth System Governance: The Distributional Implications of Environmental Change and Governance".
In early July 2009, the Global Environmental Governance Forum drew a historic gathering of past, present, and future environmental leaders in the small Swiss town of Glion. The Forum gathered for the first time all five successive Executive Directors of the UN Environment Programme: Maurice Strong, the Secretary-General of the first United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and the Rio Earth Summit; Mostafa Tolba; Elizabeth Dowdeswell; Klaus Töpfer; and Achim Steiner, the current Executive Director. Maria Ivanova, a partner of Ecologic Institute, is Director of the Global Environmental Governance Project, which hosted the Forum. R. Andreas Kraemer and Susanah Stoessel of Ecologic Institute were also in attendance.
